connected #2 is the second compilation from i u we records, a label focussing on the beauty of female diversity in electronic music. Founded and curated by Panic Girl, this compilation contains nine carefully chosen tracks composed by innovative electronic artists from all around the world, who create their unique sonic worlds.

1. No Translation - Horizon Line
The artist herself described her music with the following words: "This track was inspired by the transition time of light to dark, where the colours change over the horizon line and shift into darkness. The setup for this track included a small modular rig, a looper, and Digitone synth."

2. früit - Skadi
"Skadi was produced using a very minimalistic setup - through a combination of organic field recordings, vocal layering techniques and various VSTs, Skadi is a study on achieving a deep and elaborate soundscape with limited resources."

3. Patricia Wolf - People Moving Freely
"I wrote this song a few days before my 2nd dose of the Moderna vaccine was administered in May 2021. I was excited and anticipating being able to gather with friends again. With this song, I wanted to capture the feeling of being at an art gallery amongst a crowd of people who are quietly contemplating the art on display. I wanted the music to convey the curiosity and inspiration I feel in a stimulating art space. 
For this song I used my Novation Summit, Make Noise 0-Coast, Valhalla DSP delay and reverb effects, a field recording, and Ableton Live to record."

4. Clariloops - Stillness Underwater
"When I meditate, I often imagine I’m underwater - where the sounds of the world and the thoughts on the surface can’t reach me. This piece is inspired by that image.
For this compilation, I wanted to write something based around a simple sequence I’d created using my organelle. Adding layers and layers of unaffected clarinet on top of the synthesiser created the perfect relaxing atmosphere that I had in my head. The Hologram Electronics Microcosm helped to add some sparkle throughout the track, it makes me think of large sea creatures swimming past. "

5. Sofie Birch - Jerikos Rose
"Jerikos Rose is created with slowed down samples of chimes and birds from a trip to Colombia played and manipulated with my Octatrack MKI. Melodies are played with the Roland JP-08 and Analog Four. Everything is tape mastered with a Casio CK-500. Jerikos Rose is a rose that can live for a very long time without water."

6. Surgeon Girl - The Rush Divide
"The Rush Divide is a track I play live. It developed from an improvisation session while writing this year, and it uses just the Vermona perFOURma with empress Reverb and Echo System. All voices are opening up throughout and moving between each other. I love this instrument, so Ireally wanted to dedicate a track to it."

7. Emme - A Spark In My Eyes
"This song is mostly based on a sequence experiment I made with the Monologue XD desktop version. For percussion, I used a lot of sampling and re sampling with woody, natural sort of sounds from sample packs that I’ve been collecting through the years. The deep bass comes from the Sub37, sending midi programmed on Ableton.
The skeleton of the track comes from my love of arpeggiators and a slight tempo change, to make it more dynamic and “danceable". It was produced at my studio Soundlab, and mixed there by Alonso Boniche.
I wanted to convey an earthly vibe on the percussion/drums and a positive airy uplifting vibe with the synthesisers, as a contrast to the grey lockdown we were going through and make a track that I could dance to at home."

"Reflection" it's the representation of the dialogue with yourself, a look from outside to find out what you really have inside. The whole track is made using IDRA modular system, Novation Summit, and Peak."
